Too focused on the TV, he doesn’t notice Changmin coming out of his room until he’s right by the couch.

“Chanhee?”

Chanhee startles, one hand coming up to wipe at his face, embarrassed by the tears on his cheeks. Head on Chanhee’s lap, Younghoon stirs a little in his sleep.

Before he can explain himself, Changmin is right next to him, tucking his feet under himself and gently helping Chanhee wipe the tears away.

“What’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing,” Chanhee whispers. “It’s this stupid movie. I should know better than to watch the things Sunwoo recommends.”

Changmin doesn’t answer. He does glance at the TV, but then he’s watching Chanhee’s face again. Whether he has any thoughts on the movie or on the fact that Chanhee has been silently crying in the darkness of the living room, he keeps it all to himself.

Instead, he cups one side of Chanhee’s face and brings him closer to kiss his cheek, the kind of kiss that lasts a long time and conveys an inordinate number of things. That he’s here, for one. That he’ll always be here, no questions asked, for another.

Chanhee is battling tears again, but he doesn’t have to for long, because Younghoon stirs on his lap. “You guys are so loud,” he whines, receiving a weak flick on the forehead from Changmin in response and whining again.

That gets a laugh out of Chanhee. A little wet and pathetic, but a laugh nonetheless. Hard not to, when he’s surrounded by his very own reasons to smile.
