It feels like standing on the edge of a cliff.

Sunwoo’s brows twitch when the fangs sink in, but he doesn’t move otherwise. He stays where he is, staring right into Younghoon’s eyes, hands on Haknyeon’s waist, braving what Younghoon can only assume is pain. 

It hurts for them, doesn’t it? It’s not the same thing a human feels when bitten. At least that’s what he’s been told.

But Sunwoo stays. Haknyeon drinks. And Younghoon wonders.

Sunwoo’s eyes bore into his and there’s a question there, one he has asked before. 

Are you scared? 

Truth of the matter is, Younghoon can’t seem to feel it. The fear everyone expects him to feel.

Sunwoo holds his hand out, and Haknyeon pulls back. His lips are crimson as he turns around to look at Younghoon, tongue darting out to lick at the corners of his mouth, at the dark, viscous blood there.

It feels like standing on the edge of a cliff, except Younghoon has always wanted to know what it feels like to fly.

So he steps forward.
