frankenstein's meme #4

4. What are the origins of your penname/username?

I have so many usernames because I'm not terribly attached to any and I don't care how people address me, so whatever works, works lol not to quote sunwoo but literally, my name is what you want it to be. *side moonwalks into the room*

moriendum comes from vivamus moriendum est (let's live, we're dying anyway). I was clearly very into my latin classes in college.

on ao3 I use gunwoong, which is the old testament ship name for oneus' keonhee/hwanwoong, back when people called keonhee "gunhee". it sounds confusing now since everyone knows the ship as "keonwoong" (hwanhee?) but I love calling him guni... he's just a little guni.

look at that hand! they're a happily divorced couple who sometimes like to revisit some old memories, okay

however! I've also used sessrumnir on ao3 (and sess as a nickname). it's the name of freyja's hall in norse mythology, because I'm vaguely interested in it. vaguely because I never actually studied it, I just really liked the 2~3 first seasons of history channel's "vikings" and read 2 viking books in college LOL I'd like to read/learn more, though.

and last but not least I adopted mun because my twitter username in 2019 was a reference to moonbyul, so moon -> mun -> 문 -> 🚪 (since that's also "door" in korean).

moriendum comes from vivamus moriendum est (let's live, we're dying anyway).

ooh this is cool! i remember realizing like months later that the accepted way to spell keonhee's name had changed, and i was so confused lol. even though his name hadn't actually changed, it felt like "what do you mean it's shaped different now"
