some (old) tbz prompts
in which I try to compile the prompts I've submitted for tbz fests so far!
these are all in the equivalent of a public domain, free for all etc since I never asked to be credited. the reason I'm compiling them here is because a) I keep forgetting what I prompted and where, b) I wanna find the claims/fills more easily, and c) there are SO MANY prompts left unclaimed in old fest archives... a gold mine for those like me who like writing other people's ideas.
this is longer than I was thinking it would be too because all things considered, I'm not great at coming up with ideas of my own? but once fests started losing steam I wanted to contribute and help things move along, so I guess 2022-2023 were actually my years of prompting. who would've thought! me, prompting!!
speaking of bad memory, though, I may have forgotten to include stuff here. several times as I was going through the archive spreadsheets I had to pause and go "wait, was this mine? or am I just remembering it from the archive?" so I tried to be careful and not include anything here I wasn't at least 95% sure is mine lol could also have done the opposite and looked at one of my prompts and completely forgotten it's mine - that's very possible and very funny to think about.
(note: each fest archive usually has its own crediting rules for unclaimed prompts. this post doesn't overrule that!)
140 - You know that step with Eric and Q in REVEAL, where they go for a near-kiss? Either these two or Q and someone else are doing that step (could be during practice, could be just as a joke, feel free to pick the particular context for it) and they end up kissing for real. What happens next is up to the author. Feel free to make it whatever you want - fluff, comedy, friends to lovers, smut, etc, it's your call!

#9873 - Band!AU. Chanhee is the lead singer of a band. Their bassist had to leave for one reason or another, so they find another guy, a friend of a friend, who's an excellent bassist and well-liked by everyone... The only problem? It's Juyeon, someone Chanhee was involved with before. (I'm imagining they met one night and never exchanged numbers, or something equally as harmless, but feel free to make it as dramatic as you wish! Maybe they had a bad breakup? Maybe Chanhee never answered his texts? Maybe it's the other way around?) Anyway, Chanhee thinks it's gonna be fine, they can totally make this work -- no awkwardness, no lingering feelings, no nothing. Leave the past in the past, right? Wrong. Cue lots of feelings and poorly thought-out decisions. (Feel free to choose which feelings!)

#9874 - Loosely based on "Practical Magic" (the 1998 film). Person A is a witch/wizard/mage of some kind, someone who was born into a family of magic practitioners. Unfortunately for him, that also means he was born with the same curse that was placed on his family generations before him: anyone he falls in love with is doomed to die an untimely death. When he realizes he's falling for Person B, he knows he has no choice: he must find a way to break the curse before it's too late.

#9875 - The Truman Show!AU. Changmin as Truman, Kevin as Sylvia. Changmin lives a normal, boring life in a small town. Every day he wakes up, goes to work, comes back home, has dinner with his spouse. He's happy, even though he still misses his college boyfriend, Kevin, the person he actually thought he would end up with if Kevin hadn't moved away abruptly and without any explanation. Unbeknownst to him, Changmin's life is being broadcasted around the clock to the entire world as the most watched reality TV show ever produced. Kevin was actually an extra; they weren't supposed to fall in love the way they did, which is why Kevin was taken off the show before he could tell Changmin the truth. Then one day Kevin comes back with a promise and a plan: he WILL get Changmin out of there.

It's all very new to him, especially doing everything on his own, so he's thankful when one of regulars starts dropping by more often to chat or just help him around the shop. Who knew Eric would end up looking forward to his mornings at the shop, after all?

SWF#067 - When they were 15 and 17, respectively, Sunwoo and Changmin made a promise to never get too far from each other. Which is why years later, when Sunwoo hears that Changmin vanished without a trace, he doesn't believe the official version of the story, that Changmin probably chose to leave on his own. No, something's wrong. And Sunwoo will figure it out, no matter what it takes.

SWF#068 - Life is boring. It is particularly boring when you're Sunwoo, an incubus working at the Department of Bad Omens and Bad Luck, where nothing ever happens and your entire routine boils down to updating spreadsheets listing incidents of broken mirrors and walking under ladders. That is, until a really pissed off witch walks in and does what no one has ever attempted before: files a complaint.
