There's so much more to think about and try to synthesise into an intelligible narrative arc / that's true... I hadn't thought about how much harder it is to come up with a narrative arc when we're quite literally dealing with something that there's no actual canon arc for (?).
and I can't figure out how to put it into words (my brain is mush rn) but I think it's harder too to deviate from canon material in TV/book fic...? not in the AU sense, but characterization-wise. at least for me as a writer/reader/viewer. for example, I can concede and accept my interpretation of juyeon's personality/on-screen persona doesn't match someone else's, sure, and I'm willing to read different points of view, but if someone tries to convince me amc's armand is something other than the interpretation of him I have in my head, that might be a struggle LOL does that make sense? rpf has more space for creativity imo, with characterization at the core of it, which is just fun.
