3. You've got your OTP, you have to throw a third into the mix (from the same fandom), creating an OT3. Who is the OTP, and in your opinion, why would they make a perfect third for them?
oh, this is a fun question. I have two answers! both kinda obvious if you open my ao3 or just know me at all.

considering milbbang as my otp, the perfectest, bestest answer is jacob. of course he's their natural third. of course 97z are ot3 material, they're all happily married! their v/weverse lives are the biggest "I want what they have" of all these days.
both milbbang and milcob have that mischievous, relenteless teasing quality to their relationship, but more so between milbbang imo, while milcob is sweeter, cheesier; meshing these two dynamics together only means twice more hyunjae teasing, and twice more younghoon loving.
because jacob is so sweet with younghoon. he says so himself that younghoon is like a dongsaeng to him, despite their same age, and of course younghoon is perfectly fine with being babied, thank you very much. their personalities work well together, and there's just a lot of love to go around there. they love each other! clearly! it's the sweetest thing.
I don't think I've written them as an ot3 yet (have I?) but in my milbbang fics jacob is always somewhere in the vicinity, in my milcob fic younghoon was the best friend, and in my bbangcob hyunjae was the ex. so even when they're not an ot3, I like to make it so they kinda still orbit each other.
actually, my biggest regret regarding my most recent milbbang fic was not making them an ot3 T_T it only occurred to me after the fic was finished and posted that wait a sec, doesn't it make more sense to make this ot3? LOL see, that's why I need 3-5 months to post a fic after I finish it... (just kidding.) (no but really, if it weren't for fests I would probably take ages to post any fic at all.)

ok let's be real, I've been juricing rather hard lately. if I were to consider them my current otp, the answer is also obvious, especially considering my most recent fics on ao3: hyunjae is their third!
I like the milric dynamic, to begin with. I think it's fascinating how adamant eric is that hyunjae is his BRO, he's not his hyung, no, they're like same-aged friends!!! and yet he can be so cute around hyunjae too. chaotic, yes, but also cute. and I think in eric's case that only confirms his words because yeah, he can be his most maknae self around people he's comfortable with. he likes to be the baby sometimes, and hyunjae is simultaneously someone he trusts like a friend and a hyung he can look up to. besides they're both perfectionists who apparently spend way too much time at the gym, so! there's plenty of hanging out and stressing over work together anyway.
the jumil dynamic is just a cute one to me. they're so committed to thebit group, and juyeon is so fond of his hyunjae hyung, it's like a different flavor of the milric dynamic - there's respect and admiration, but there's also just a lot of companionship. I think they respect each other's work ethic, and their approach to things. it's a lot of understanding where the other is coming from, and trusting each other.
and in both cases, hyunjae is always just so endeared lol he loves these two. they can be their silliest, goofiest selves and he'll laugh the hardest out of everyone. both hyunjae and juyeon are rather protective of eric, too, or maybe I just think that because in my head they're the two members more likely to move mountains for him. and the opposite is also true - eric would do anything for either of them. it just makes sense to get all three together in an ot3.
also yes, all three are part of what I fondly call horny line™️ so they're a great combination for smutty fic too imo.
(the meme is technically wrong because 90% of the time juyeon should be the sunshine in the middle but do you see the vision)
so in conclusion: everyone loves hyunjae and hyunjae loves everyone <3
and to be fair, I already have ot3s I'm fond of - bbangnyukyu being the biggest one, but I've been really liking milcobkev for the past couple years too? and I wouldn't complain if I had some more milbbangnyu and sangmilhak in my life.
